I guess these unusual lamps (they also have pendents) are not for everyone or everyplace but we do like them for their cool design and the effect they produce.
According to the site, “The Hollywood series features a pc mirror finished diffuser with crystal beads in the inside. When the lamps are off, the shades become a mirror and reflect there environment. When lit it produces a glitter of crystals which reflect beams of light while the inside of the lamp becomes visible. Hardware is finished in Chrome.”
