Jacques Tati film poster: Jour de fête

If you are finally getting around to spring cleaning, opening windows and painting the day room, and you want to add a bit of color without driving yourself nuts, a nice vintage movie poster is a great idea. The issue with vintage posters is cost since it could run into, well, a lot. Good quality reproductions, however, can be a good choice. This poster of a comedy movie by the famed French director Jacques Tati is lovely in the use of bright colors and the festive theme. The movie itself if somewhat of a landmark in the French movie industry. According to Wikipedia.com “… tells the story of an inept rural village postman who interrupts his duties to inspect the traveling fair that has come to town. Influenced by too much wine and a documentary on the rapidity of the American postal service, he goes to hilarious lengths to speed his mail deliveries aboard his bicycle. Tati filmed it in 1947 in the village where he found refuge from Nazi recruiters during the German occupation.”
This is a large poster; 27″ x 39″ so it will certainly have presence.
